Why do I find myself confused?

Maybe I was better off out in the countryside with nothing to think of besides the joust, the fields and being home at the right time for dinner?

Town life is odd to adapt to.

I was so scared of the ghosts I couldn't sleep last night and now I am too tired to ride.

I'll go try to get some valerian from the servants...I can't be all tired and red eyed if I'm taking that Meru girl out.

Whats all this I'm hearing about ghosts? I may live a little further out into the countryside but all this talk seems like rubbish.

Character: Tidus [Carruthers] - no canon surname
Series: Final Fantasy X

Character Type: Son of a Marquis, known for his talent in jousting. (His father was known for it, too)

Allegiance: Tidus doesn't really support anyone. All he focuses on is his jousting and besting his father's legend.

Background:

Tidus grew up hating every inch of his father. From a family that had been somewhat poor, despite their title as Jecht grew up from his own father's gambling and drinking; the boy turned to his sports to get away from him. He ended up being a hugely celebrated jouster, married a rich daughter from another local Marquis and suddenly, the Carruthers family had money again.

Tidus was born and Jecht put all his aspirations of continuing the family name to his son, but no matter how hard Tidus tried, no matter how good he was - Jecht always overshadows him, always insulted and mocked him. Tidus began to grow very resentful. One day - his father disappeared on a training mission. Tidus doesn't know for sure but he is adamant the man is still alive somewhere, staying alive just to come back some day to mock him once more. However, when this happened, Tidus' mother went into a state of despair. As Tidus' star began to shine, she never even noticed and this caused him to hate his father even more.

Tidus is shallow, somewhat self-obsessed; indulges his hatred a lot and tends to flirt with his female fans more often than he possibly should - but he has a good heart and really just wants to be loved and to find someone to show him they can love him for him and not who he or his father might be.
